WESTFIELD – Westfield State University senior forwards Kayley Miller and Brittanie McGregor were selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer All-New England Region Teams.
Miller was a second-team selection and McGregor was a fourth-team honoree. The Ludlow natives led the Owls to a sensational 18-1-1 record and their fourth MASCAC championship and NCAA Tourament appearance in the past five years.
Miller, the 2012 MASCAC player of the year, set school records for goals (20) and points (49) in a season and career points (119). She ranked fourth nationally with eight game-winning goals this season.
It was a third straight year that Miller was a first-team all-conference selection; she transferred to Westfield from Division I Monmouth (N.J.) University following her freshman year.
McGregor was first-team all-conference for the second consecutive season. McGregor scored 35 points, the fifth best total in school history, and ranks 10th on the Owls’ all-time scoring list with 76 points. McGregor tied a school record and ranked eighth nationally with 15 assists this season.
“This is well deserved honor for Kayley and Brit,” said Westfield women’s soccer head coach Todd Ditrmar, who noted there are approximately 80 colleges in New England that field women’s soccer programs. “Both are highly skilled players who proved this season they are among the best players in New England.”
EHRHARDT NAMED TO ECAC ALL-STAR FOOTBALL SQUAD: Westfield State University senior linebacker Justin Ehrhardt (Stoneham) was selected to the ECAC Division III North All-Star football squad for the 2012 season.
Ehrhardt led the Owls and ranked third in the 16-team New England Football Conference with 100 tackles, including 67 solo stops. He led the Owls with three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
Erhardt was a New England Football Conference first-team all-conference selection in 2012.
