HS WRAP: WVT golf wins … again!

WESTFIELD – The Westfield Voc-Tech golf team is now at number two.
Westfield Voc-Tech’s Connor Hall finished as the top medalist in the team’s 16-8 win over Easthampton, shooting a 49 at the number three spot at East Mountain Country Club Thursday. Easthampton’s top golfer Bradlee Nadeau also shot a 49.
Matt King and Jake Parsons each shot a 51 for the Tigers (2-7-1), which now currently hold their best record in the program’s history with a pair of wins.
BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY
Hampshire 22, Southwick-Tolland 38
Southwick’s Chris Roy surged to a first-place finish in 17:08 on Hampshire’s 2.9 mile course Wednesday.
Rams’ Jared Demaio (5th, 19:13), Juan Fuentes (8th, 20:22), Matt Corigan (13th, 21.40), and Jake Myers (16th, 22:99) cracked the overall top 20.
Monson 25, Gateway 30
Chris Hanechak won the race, finishing first overall for Gateway in 19:57. Gators’ Ashley Yost was a runner-up in the girls’ event at 25:04.
The Gateway girls lost 22-35.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Southwick-Tolland 3, Holyoke 0
Hannah Sitler (3 aces, 3 kills), Lexi Degray (3 aces, 11 assists), Milan Andreoli (7 kills), and Bri Bourassa (12 digs) contributed to Southwick’s 25-21, 25-19, 25-16 win over Holyoke.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Hopkins Academy 2, Southwick-Tolland 0
Paul Delaney scored in the sixth minute, and Tim Hanlon tacked on an insurance goal in the 66th for Hopkins on Tuesday.
