2018 BABE RUTH BASEBALL DAN WELCH CITY CUP CHAMPIONS

WESTFIELD – All-Star weather and All-Star play is beginning to shine through as witnessed by two great Babe Ruth Baseball games Tuesday night at Bullens Field.
The Dan Welch City Cup was decided, signaling the beginning of summer’s All-Star season.
In the first game, Advance Manufacturing came out swinging as the No. 5 seed in the playoffs. Behind the strong pitching of Brody Zabielski, Advance defeated top-seeded Berkshire Insurance Group 12-8 to force an “if” game.
In the night cap, for all the marbles, Berkshire Insurance scored early and often in the game for a 14-9 win to capture the Dan Welch City Cup.
The victory for Berkshire was not easy as Advance closed to within 10-9 in the sixth inning before Berkshire put things away by scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning for the win. – Courtesy of Babe Ruth Baseball
