The Westfield Youth Football League spent a recent fall weekend playing a great day of football, and also honored victims of recent tragedies.
These young football players burst through a plume of fog with their newly acquired Bomber helmets with a sense of pride. They represented not only Westfield Youth Football, but honored those who experienced loss and tragedy at the Boston Marathon and in Newtown, Conn., through ribbons attached to their jerseys.
The Bombers played in front of a fantastic home crowd, and furthered their efforts to earn a postseason shot. The Pee Wees remained unbeaten at 4-0 with a 16-0 win over SAFL, the Juniors (3-0-1) settled for a 6-6 tie, and the Seniors won 42-20 to improve to 3-1.
