EAST LONGMEADOW – It may have been a morning faceoff between the Westfield and East Longmeadow high school boys’ lacrosse teams, but the Bombers made it a long afternoon for the Spartans.
Westfield recorded a resounding 15-0 shutout of host East Longmeadow Tuesday to improve to 6-1 overall.
Sam Scarfo (3 goals, 2 assists) and Matt Chlastawa (1 goal, 4 assists) paved the way for Westfield with a pair of 5-point performances. Austin Hodgdon (assist) and Garrett Fitzgerald scored two goals apiece. Anthony Sullivan, Justin Halls, Eric Laplante, and Ruslan Davledzarov each had one goal.
Rashaun Rivers, Zack Kuzon, Craig Ward, and Luke Chlastawa contributed one assist apiece.
Garrett Matthews, Corey Ward, Mitch Weiss, Kane Miller, Kevin Chambers, and Sam Evans spearheaded the defensive front for Westfield.
Bombers’ goalie Jake Cupak pitched a shutout in net. He recorded 11 saves.
