WESTFIELD – There was block party for two local high school boys’ lacrosse teams, but one team was in a less-than-celebratory mood following the outcome.
Westfield blasted St. Mary 18-0 Thursday at Stanley Park. The Bombers scored six goals in each of the first two quarters, and tacked on six more – three in the third; three in the fourth.
Kevin Papineau led Westfield with three goals and one assist. Ryan Wilson (1 goal, 2 assists), Sam Scarfo (2 G, 1A), Jeff Bourgoin (3 G), Nick Liberto (2 G), Garrett Fitzgerald (1 G), Brian Jensen (1 G), Matt Chlastawa (1 G), Zach Pechulis (1 G), Sean Sullivan (1 G), Devin O’Grady (1 G), and Anthony Visconti (1 G) also contributed for the Bombers.
Sean D’Onfrio made three saves in net for Westfield. St. Mary goalie Peter Demos finished with six.
