WESTFIELD – While the Grinch and Scrooge reared their ugly heads a little more than a week ago for the Westfield High School boys ice hockey team in the form of a loss to the Longmeadow Lancers, the Christmas holiday turned out to be a happy one for the Bombers.
On Saturday, the Westfield Bombers posted their third consecutive victory, delivering coal to the Minnechaug Falcons in the form of a 2-0 shutout at the Olympia Ice Center.
Ryan Moorhouse and Liam Webster scored one goal apiece (both in the second period), Scotty Bussell had one assist, and Cam Parent (22 saves) earned a shutout.
Since a 5-2 loss to Longmeadow on Dec. 15, Westfield has outscored the opposition by a combined score of 12-1.
Westfield (4-1) next takes on Beverly Wednesday at Gloucester High School at 6 p.m.
