Bombers outlast Spartans, 56-51

WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School boys basketball team closed out the game on a 16-7 fourth quarter run to hold off East Longmeadow 56-51 Monday night in the Whip City.
Three players scored in double-digits for Westfield.
The Bombers were led by Tony Torres (17 points), Will Cameron (16) and Riley Coughlin. Coughlin scored nine points in the final quarter.
East Longmeadow’s Ryan Lindsay scored a team-high 13.
Westfield returns to action Thursday at Longmeadow High School at 7 p.m.

Peyton Bucko scored 11 points; and Grace VanBuren and Donna Viel chipped in with eight and seven points, respectively to fuel Gateway’s latest victory.
Jeika Rios led Westfield Technical Academy with 11.
