WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School boys’ soccer team did not spend much time stewing over Friday night’s loss to the Lions at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow.
Two Bombers scored two goals apiece to lead Westfield to a resounding 6-0 home shutout of Central Monday.
Igor Belokopytov and Mike Visconti each tallied two goals. Matt Butera and Dillion Bazegian notched one goal and one assist apiece for Westfield. Bombers’ Aidan Dunn and Sam Winiarski each had an assist.
“I’m pretty happy with how we played, especially after the loss against Ludlow,” said Westfield coach Andrew Joseph, whose team launched 16 shots against Central.
Ian Saltmarsh (4 saves) recorded a shutout in net for the Bombers.
There’s no time for rest for Westfield. The Bombers return to action in less than 24 hours against the Orioles Tuesday at Belchertown before hosting the Chicopee Comp Colts Friday. Both games begin at 4 p.m.
“Both of those will be a tough test,” coach Joseph said.
