WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School girls’ lacrosse team’s goal for the postseason is now within its grasp.
Westfield avenged an early season loss to West Springfield, keeping its playoff hopes alive with a 15-10 win over the Terriers on Monday. The Bombers (9-9) must win on the road against Belchertown (13-5-1) Friday to earn a postseason berth. Game time is at 6:30 p.m.
“It was senior night and all of our seniors were huge,” Westfield coach Paul Fenwick said.
Senior Ashlee Owen (5 goals) and Ashlee O’Connor (4 goals) led the Westfield scoring attack. Bombers’ Laura Paye had three assists.
Olivia Clark, Lauren Scholpp, Heather Lutservitz, Sara Wailgum, and Rachel Gelina helped key Westfield’s defense. Bombers’ goalie Victoria Meneses finished with 10 saves.
