AMHERST – One blemish.
The Westfield High School softball team completed a remarkable regular season, nearly perfect with a 19-1 mark following a 14-8 win over host Amherst Friday night.
The list of offensive contributors was quite lengthy.
Lexi Minicucci (double, 3 RBIs), Jen Moller (double, 2 RBIs), Jesse Pratt (3-for-5, RBI), Katelyn Puza (2-3, RBI), Sarah McNerney (2-3, RBI), Maddy Atkocaitis (2-5, RBI), Jules Sharon (2-4), Macee Candiano (triple), Kate Menard (hit, RBI), Lauren Sheehan (hit), and Karly Mastello (hit) all produced for Westfield.
The Bombers’ pitcher, Menard struck out four.
“The season’s over – now we wait to see where we stand on Tuesday,” Westfield coach Joe Stella said.
Seedings for the postseason will be announced Tuesday.
BASEBALL
Westfield 8, Longmeadow 2
Cam Robitaille provided six solid innings on the mound for Westfield, and went 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Bombers’ Brent Houle delivered a strong inning of relief.
