The Westfield High School girls’ soccer team edged East Longmeadow in a tough battle, 1-0, Friday.
Westfield’s Annie Brozini scored the game-winner in the 14th minute. Shelby Chambers earned the assist.
Erin McDermott and Lindsay Stefano helped anchor outstanding play in the midfield for Westfield. Bombers’ Jules Sharon (5 saves) and Celina Nunez (8 saves) combined for a shutout in net.
Westfield’s team defense and overall team play was deemed a success by their head coach.
“I was very pleased and proud of their efforts,” Westfield coach Keith Saltmarsh said.
