SPRINGFIELD – Central tallied a pair of first half goals en route to a 2-0 win over visiting Southwick in a girls’ soccer opener Thursday. Mary Zabik (3 saves) and Tory Richburg (3 saves) split time in net for the Rams.

Freshman Samantha Peruse and Alex Kennedy each scored a first-half goal to help lead the Rams’ JV unit to victory. Kennedy and McKenzie Frey had one assist apiece.
Southwick goalie Kayla Bergendale finished with two saves.
