WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School boys’ soccer team was officially eliminated from the Western Massachusetts Division I tournament chase with a 2-1 loss to Chicopee Comprehensive Thursday night at Bullens Field.
Westfield held a 1-0 lead at the half – Matt Butera had a beautiful goal to spot the Bombers – but Chicopee Comp rallied for two unanswered second-half goals.
Robert Bernadara made nine saves in net for Westfield, which still has five games remaining in the regular season. The Bombers open a four-game, four-day stretch, beginning Monday at Gateway Regional at 4 p.m.
