SPRINGFIELD – Two Westfield State University school records fell as the Owls competed at the four-team Springfield Invitational indoor track and field meet on Saturday.
Freshman Ashley Craig, competing in her first collegiate meet, pole vaulted 11′-1/4″ in her first collegiate meet to break the school mark of 10′ 11-3/4″ set by Amy Auclair in 2013.
Naloti Palma bettered her own school record in the indoor shot put with a toss of 44′ 8-3/4″, a half inch better than her record-setter last year. Both Palma and Craig won their events.
Other winners for the Owls included Zack Delisle in the pole vault, with a height of 14′ 9″ and Brian Garcia in the shot put with a throw of 46′ 1-1/4″. Edison Perez won the 60 meter hurdles, and the men’s 4×400 relay team.
The Westfield State men placed third in the meet, while the women claimed fourth in the team scoring.
