Donald R. Lehrer

WESTFIELD – Donald R. Lehrer, 80, of Westfield died Sunday at home. He was born in Springfield, son of the late Wesley and Gladys (Voudren) Lehrer.
Donald was raised in West Springfield and was a 1951 graduate of West Springfield High School, moving to Westfield fifty-six years ago. Donald was employed as a toolmaker at Hamilton-Standard for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, June (Caba) Lehrer and three nephews, Gary Howe and his wife Terry, and their daughters, Lauren and Lisa of Easthampton, Martin Howe of West Springfield, Robert Smarse Jr., of Westfield and a niece Janice Tucker and her husband Cliff of Belchertown. He was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Norma and Milton Howe.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Westfield. There are no calling hours.
