Emma’s Everyday Gourmet takes over deli at Pleasant Street Market

WESTFIELD- While many restaurants and businesses have felt the financial strain of COVID-19 and closed shop, Emma’s Everyday Gourmet is expanding.

In addition to its Arnold Street restaurant, Emma’s will be taking over the deli at the Pleasant Street Market.

Emily Sesti, owner of Emma’s Everyday Gourmet, announced the move in a Facebook post last week. She said that they will be offering soups, salads, sandwiches, sliced deli meats and cheeses, wings, and premade dinners at the new deli.

Sesti said that the owners of Pleasant Street Market approached them with the idea. Her family goes there often, so they became friendly with them before the idea was pitched.

“We took the opportunity to expand, because restaurants are of course struggling right now,” said Sesti.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has left many businesses, restaurants in particular, struggling to keep up. With takeout becoming ever more popular, having a second location dedicated to that could prove beneficial, Sesti said.

Customers responding to the Facebook announcement were positive. Comments such as “So excited for your new added adventure! It’s such a bonus for the city of Westfield” and “THIS IS MY FAVORITE POST OF ALL TIME! It puts my work exactly between the two Emmas!” filled Emma’s post. Sesti responded “Thank you everyone for all the shares, congratulations & support! We’re SO excited.”
