Field set for City Cup Tournament

After a hugely successful regular season the Greater Westfield Babe Ruth League is ready to embark on the traditional Dan Welch City Cup Playoffs on Tues., Aug. 18. Despite COVID-19 concerns the league has successfully implemented safety guidelines to keep all the players and families safe while playing our 45 game regular season. It has been a great summer of baseball at Bullens Field for more than 80 players in the league. Final regular season standings were: No. 1 ITI, No. 2 Batter’s Box, No. 3 Advance Mfg., No. 4 Westfield Bank, No. 5 Cortina Tile, and No. 6 Berkshire Insurance.
Now the teams will be seeded in the double-elimination City Cup Tournament. The Tournament has been a Westfield Babe Ruth tradition for more than 40 years. The league invites everyone to come out to watch Westfield finest baseball players play for City Cup bragging rights for 2020. All games are free! Remember, safety protocols call for everyone to practice social distancing and also to wear a mask while at the field.
