WESTFIELD – Framingham State University scored four third-period goals, including two in the final five minutes, to rally for a 4-4 overtime tie with Westfield State University in MASCAC ice hockey action on Thursday.
Despite being unable to hold a 4-2 lead late in the game, the Owls remain in second place in the conference with a 9-4-2 record; they are 13-6-2 overall. Framingham is still winless in conference play (0-13-2) and is 2-17-2 overall.
Dylan Cosford scored with 4:59 remaining in regulation as the Rams cut the deficit to 4-3. Framingham then pulled the goalie in the final minute and Brendan McCarron scored on a 6-on-4 power play situation with 28 seconds remaining.

After a scoreless first period, Westfield led 2-0 after two periods on goals by Dalton Jay and Steve Evans.
Framingham’s Bo Driscoll scored a short-handed goal 3:53 into the third stanza then Westfield’s TJ Powers scored a power play goal less than a minute later for a 3-1 Owl lead.
The Rams closed within a goal again, 3-2, as Ben Pacific lit the lamp 6:46 into the period. Todd Gebert scored on a power play for the Owls’ final points with 7:52 remaining in regulation.
Gebert, Evans and Powers all tallied a goal and two assists.
Westfield outshot Framingham, 47-35. Ram goalie Cafrelli made 43 saves; Owl goalie Eddie Davey had 31 saves.
