HUNTINGTON – The Gateway Regional High School wrestling team flexed its collective muscle, pinning down a 54-21 win over Mohawk Wednesday night.
Gateway opened with a pair of victories with 132-pounder Nick Wolfgang pinning Mohawk’s Nate Wooldridge in 2:24 and 152-pounder Brett Bonenfant pinning Jaden Moore in 3:17. Gators’ Kyle Percy (182 pounds) won by injury forfeit.
At Southwick, Sabis spoiled the Rams’ home meet, 48-18.
Despite the team loss, three Southwick wrestlers enjoyed pins – 120 pounder Ryan Laferriere (00:41), 170-pounder Dakota Wood (3:26) and 182-pounder Nick Green (00:16).
