WESTFIELD – Jeffrey L. Gosselin, said he is seeking a seat on the Westfield School Committee and kicked off his campaign on May 12, in front of Westfield City Hall.
“I’m excited and ready to share my ideas and offer a clear vision for our schools,” he said. “I believe my teaching, coaching, and professional experience, qualifications, and 30-year career in public education PreK-Higher Education make me a very strong candidate to lead our schools into the future.”
Gosselin has served as a former school committee member, a past Springfield Public School teacher, a former supervisor and counselor at the Carson Center, and an adjunct faculty member at Westfield State University. He presently works as a teacher assistant/ESP in the Northampton Public Schools. He has taught hip hop, salsa and funk dance classes in the Northampton schools and is a certified United States Figure Skating Coach (USFSA) and coaches at the International Skating Center of Connecticut in Simsbury, CT.
A Westfield native, he attended Westfield Public Schools, graduated from Springfield College with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Organizational Development & Labor Studies and a Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree from American International College in Elementary Education, an Associate’as Degree from Holyoke Community College in Liberal Arts & Sciences and a Certificate in Exercise Fitness from Holyoke Community College. He holds both a Professional Teaching license and a School Counselor license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
