High Schools host virtual awards assemblies

WESTFIELD – Even a global pandemic can’t stop Westfield Public Schools from awarding the Class of 2020.

Both the Westfield Technical Academy and Westfield High School were able to host their awards assemblies this year via live video presentations on Thursday, June 4 and Friday, June 5.

Westfield Public Schools Superintendent Stefan Czaporowski thanked Media Coordinator Peter Cowles, WTA Principal Joseph Langone and WHS Principal Charles Jendrysik for making it happen.

“I think it was important that we were able to put that together for our students to be able to recognize their achievements,” Czaporowski said.

Jendrysik said while the awards ceremony was unusual, he was happy it took place.

“I am very happy that we are able to have our annual awards senior ceremony this year.  While I would clearly prefer to hold it in person, what matters most is that we are able to honor our seniors with awards for their hard work and diligence.  Our Class of 2020 is an exceptional group of students and I am happy to celebrate their accomplishments,” said Jendrysik.

The video announcements are posted on  the  Westfield, Ma, Public Schools Facebook page.
