SOUTHWICK- The Southwick Historical Society’s Lee Hamberg will present a compilation of historical images of the town Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Town Hall in conjunction with the celebrations of the Southwick 250.

The presentation, titled “Around Southwick II” will display some never-before seen images depicting historical Southwick. These new images are going to be a part of a new book to be released celebrating the town’s history through pictures, according to Southwick Selectman and Celebrate Southwick 250 Committee member Russell Fox.

“Our hope is that, like most of our events, we can make it friendly for kids who are looking to learn more about the history of the town as the 250th birthday approaches,” said Fox.

Fox described Hamberg as a historian who has been taking the lead to put together the historical book for the Southwick 250. Hamberg, the Archivist for the Historical Society, will be the main presenter.

Fox said that the book in which the pictures will be published will be released sometime in the late summer or early fall. It will likely be before the actual date of the 250th anniversary of Southwick’s separation from Westfield on Nov. 7.
