SOUTHWICK – A Holistic Farmers Market hosted weekly at The Brass Rail Meeting House offers locally made bread, crystals, artwork, jewelry and more.

The Market is hosted at The Brass Rail on Fridays from 1-6 p.m. on the deck. Organizer Stacy Colwick said she felt this was something missing in town.

“After 30 years in the corporate world and getting laid off, I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives,” said Colwick. “The market is a place where small businesses have the opportunity to sell their product or services. The vision is to bring the community together and support each other by having a culture that enables us to be successful together.”

Colwick said the vendors all work together.

“If this market is successful, the vendors will be successful. We strive to be a place where people can come and enjoy themselves while supporting small businesses,” Colwick said.

Once Colwick knew what she wanted to do, she had to find a space to do it.

“I chose to work with the Brass Rail Meeting House because of their extensive deck, large ballroom and of course the lakeside views,” she said. “My partnership with Jennifer Nolasco, who is bringing the building back to life, benefits us all. Our farmers’ market has the opportunity to grow due to the space that the Brass Rail Meeting House offers.”

Colwick said The Brass Rail has plenty of space for vendors as well as the live music and food trucks that are part of the market.

“It also gives us the opportunity to showcase local groups such as, Cub/Girl Scouts, dance studios, martial arts, and local sports teams. We are hoping that it becomes a platform for all to come and showcase their talents,” said. “Everyone here is so happy to have the opportunity to promote local businesses and contribute to the health and wellness of our communities.”
