Identities of shoplifting suspects released

SOUTHWICK – The two individuals who were charged with shoplifting the CVS on College Highway have been identified as Jamie Stawarz, 36, of Holyoke, and Jesse Leger, 37, of Ludlow.

On April 7, the two suspects walked into the College Highway retailer and stole several boxes of Rogaine shaving cream. The retail value for an entire box is around $55 and is common for shoplifters to sell them to pawn shops.

In May, it was announced that the Southwick Police Department identified the individuals involved in the incident, but they could not release their names until all charges were fully submitted.

Landis noted that part of the reason that he was able to identify the two individuals was due to tips from people finding things on social media.

“It’s nice for people to realize that their calls can mean something,” said Landis.

Stawarz and Leger are facing charges of larceny under $1,200.
