Last call for applicants for the Fine Art & Authors Show

WESTFIELD – ArtWorks Westfield is putting out a last call for local artists and authors to participate in its 3rd Annual Fine Art and Author Show.

ArtWorks is coordinating this year’s event to coincide with Westfield on Weekends’ PumpkinFest Oct. 19.

PumpkinFest takes places on Park Square Green and the surrounding area and includes pumpkin decorating, children’s activities, food vendors, a Harvest Village craft fair and more. Organizers expect thousands of visitors to the event.

The Fine Art and Author Show will take place on the east side of Elm Street from the corner of Main and Elm to Thomas street. The show also extends into the Gaslight District from Church to School street.

ArtWorks President Bill Westerlind said in a release that artists will exhibit their work along Elm Street while authors will be the highlight of the Gaslight Gallery. The show is from 12-6 p.m.

Both artists and authors are sought for the show. While PumpkinFest is a fall festival, artists and authors do not need to keep with the Autumnal theme and all mediums are accepted.

Westerlind hopes to accommodate up to 30 artists and 10 authors to display and sell their work at the show. Space is available on a first come, first served basis. Display space is 10’ x 10’ and the display fee is $35.

Artists and authors must provide their own tent, tables, chairs and other display vehicles. The event takes place rain or shine. Display fee is non-refundable.

Westerlind said there is no fee to apply, however, there is a deadline of Oct. 5

“This is an outstanding opportunity for local and regional artists and authors to showcase their talent and creativity,” said Westerlind. “Last year we held our fall show in the small grassy space adjacent to Blended Vintage Marketplace. This season we opted to expand our display space to accommodate even more local artists and authors. The opportunities are endless!”

Artists should submit three jpeg images of their work to [email protected] for consideration. Authors are asked to send contact information and a sample list of works.

For more information about the show and reserving a display space, email at [email protected]. Include “show info” in the subject line.
