To the Editor,
Warning signs are blinking RED that President Trump is catering to Russia with the idea of withholding military aid from a critical ally – Ukraine. Trump is trying to force Ukrainian prosecutors to investigate Joe Biden, Democratic front-runner, requesting Ukraine’s help with his presidential campaign to find dirt. Mr. Giuliani also wants the probe he claims that exposes payments by a former Ukrainian political party to Biden’s son. Mr. Trump is once again catering to Mr. Putin, who dedicated to undermining Ukrainian democracy and independence. Russia is an adversary. Many people are trying to understand out why Trump is getting so deep with Putin. Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper says “that if the US decides to block $250 million in military aid to Ukraine that it would be a gift to Russia, but it’s not unreasonable for the Trump administration to review assistance to another country.”
American national-security officials are declining to share Russia-related intelligence with the president of the United States because they view him as a security risk. “The Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election in a sweeping and systematic fashion.” Mueller’s Investigation. Philip Ewing NPR commented: “Federal officials say the diverse variety of systems and procedures across the country mean that a U.S. election as a whole is almost impossible to hack — but an adversary doesn’t need to affect the whole country. All it needs to do is affect small numbers of people in key places; the 2020 election is expected to turn on three or four key swing states.”
President Trump changes direction about whether he admits about foreign interference and who issued the treats. At times he vows that interference will be responded to very strongly then again maybe not. It depends on where the threat came from. “The Russians are absolutely intent on trying to interfere with our elections,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. According to the Politico, “President Donald Trump may be exposing himself to hacking or surveillance due to his use of an iPhone that he doesn’t swap out regularly, according to a report.”
From his tweets to his bluster to his white supremacist policies, Donald Trump poses a security risk to the United States. He is actively making us less safe with each day in the office. There is a running list of some of ways he has threatened our safety. From Indivisible. Z. Small wrote; “Donald Trump tweeted a minute-long video that some followers mistook for an official campaign announcement ahead of the president’s 2020 reelection campaign. The short clip included congratulatory (and misleading) statistics about the White House’s economic and political achievements.”
“The U.S. government over the last two years, violating all the international structures and rules and using its economic, financial and military resources, has taken an aggressive approach and presents a serious risk to stability in the region and the world,” Iranian President Hassan Rohani said. “America’s global image today is complicated. On balance, people around the world continue to give the United States favorable ratings and say it respects the individual liberties of its people. More countries also prefer the U.S. as the world’s leading power over China. Many are expressing frustrations about America’s role in the world and have little confidence in President Donald Trump to do the right thing in world affairs.” according to a Pew Research Center survey of 25 nations. We are the most powerful nation. We have an active military, the largest economy as long as technological progress is the primary driver of long-run growth. Our trade politics should blend other economies. However, such factors do not necessarily translate into either international respect or popularity.
“I don’t believe the four Congresswomen are capable of loving our country,” Trump tweeted. Why is Trump so hateful? What are his issues involving African Americans as well as Mexicans, Hispanics more broadly, Native Americans, Muslims, Jews, immigrants, women, and people with disabilities? Other signs of Mr. Trump’s insecurity abound. He fires senior officials by “tweet” rather than face them in person. He calls himself “a stable genius” but refuses to release his grades. He terms himself a billionaire but won’t release his tax returns. He spends as much as 60% of his day in “executive time” — primarily watching television to see how he is being covered.
