LL REPORT: Judd, Kiwanis walk-off vs. Sons, 4-3

Kiwanis 4, Sons of Erin 3
On a sunny and clear Mother’s Day, Kiwanis and the Sons of Erin entertained the crowd with a well played baseball game at Paper Mill field. Jimmy Hagan led the Kiwanis team to its fifth victory of the year by pitching a complete game while striking out 13 batters. Matt Judd delivered the clutch base hit to right field to earn the walk-off victory. The action started in the first inning after Hagan struck out the side and Kiwanis got the bats going. Ryan Moorhouse continuing his strong offensive season, hitting a long drive to deep center field for his first home run of the year to put Kiwanis up 1-0. Hagan then singled to left field and moved to second base after a ground out. Judd delivered a double to center to score Hagan and give Kiwanis its second run of the game. Sons got on the scoreboard with a run in the second inning and added another run in the third. With the score tied at two ,Kiwanis outfielder Adam Masters walked, C.J. Skribiski singled to center and Ryan Moorhouse doubled to drive in Masters for Kiwanis’ third run. In the fourth inning, Jack Blake hit a home run to center for Sons to even the score at three apiece. The game remained tied at three apiece when Kiwanis came to bat in the bottom of the sixth inning. Skribiski hit a long triple to right center field and with no outs the hot hitting Moorhouse and Hagan received intentional walks to load the bases. The next batter for Kiwanis hit a hard ground ball to the Sons second baseman, who made a nice play to force Skribiski out at the plate. The score was still tied when Judd came to the plate and delivered the game winning hit to secure the walk off win for Kiwanis. Moorhouse, Judd and Skribiski all had two hits in the game. Hagan had a single and was walked twice, Devan Nadeau had a base hit, Ian Wilhoite had a single and Masters had a double to support the Kiwanis offense. The catchers Moorhouse and Ryan Rix had good games defensively for Kiwanis .Second baseman Cameron Gourde had a strong defensive game as well and the game was the second complete game victory in a row for Hagan. Kiwanis is now 5-3 on the year.

May 7
Commercial 11, Kiwanis 6
Kiwanis played crosstown Commercial at Cross St., falling 11-6. Highlights for the Kiwanis team included two hits each by C.J. Skribiski and Ryan Moorhouse. Skribiski had two singles and two runs scored while Moorhouse reached base all three times he was at the plate. Moorhouse had a single, triple and was hit by a pitch while scoring two runs. Ryan Rix had two base hits and drove in a run and scored a run. Jimmy Hagan had a base hit to left field and a run batted in during the sixth inning . Matt Judd, Tyler Cousineau, Brian Daly and Devan Nadeau all added base hits to the 10-hit Kiwanis offense. Matt Judd pitched a solid four innings for Kiwanis with Ryan Rix finishing off the game for the final two innings. The defensive highlight of the game for Kiwanis was Rix throwing a strike to second base to nab a would be base stealer.

Kiwanis 16, Moose 5
Kiwanis got three runs in the first inning after a lead off single by C.J. Skribiski, a double by Ryan Moorhouse , Jimmy Hagan was hit by a pitch and Ryan Rix plated two runners with a solid double to left center field. Matt Judd followed that up with a double to left to score Rix. Kiwianis score four more runs in the fourth with Moorhouse doubling to lead off the inning followed by a Hagan base hit to center filed to score Moorhouse. Matt Judd and Tyler Cousineau walked to load the bases for Devan Nadeau, who stroked a double to center to score Hagan and Moorhouse with two more runs . The final run of the inning came off the bat of Ian Wilhoite who single to center to score Nadeau and give Kiwanis a 7-4 lead. Kiwanis had a two-out, 7-run rally in the 5th inning. The rally started when Brian Daly had a base hit to center which was followed by a long drive to deep center off the fence for a double by Ian Wilhoite. Cameron Gourde then walked to load the bases and Adam Masters had a base hit to left field to score two runs. Devin Dupuis then walked, Skribsiki doubled in two more runs and Hagan doubled down the left field line to drive in another run. Rix then singled to drive in Hagan with the final run of the inning. Skribiski had three hits including two doubles and two runs batted in. Moorhouse had two doubles and a single and scored three runs. Hagan had a double, single and was hit by a pitch and walked to reach base in all four of his at bats. Hagan had two runs batted in and scored three runs. Rix had a double and a single and two RBI in the game. Judd had a double and a single and two runs batted in and Adam Masters had a single and two runs batted in. Wilhoite had a double and a single and an RBI. Gourde and Judd each pitched two good innings and Moorhouse closed the game out with a one. two, three 6th inning.

May 11
Camfour 4, Police 1
Camfour sent out three pitchers to hold down the Police batting line-up to just one run with three hits while striking out 15 batters. Kevin Paluck started the game by pitching two strong innings while striking out four batters and only allowing one run. At the plate, Paluck had a key sacrifice hit to the right side of the infield in the fifth inning to advance a runner to third base who than scored a key insurance run to secure the win for Camfour. Spencer Cloutier has another monster day at the Paper Mill ball park by going 3-for-3 at the plate with another home run deep over the right centerfield fence to go along with a pair of singles, runs scored and RBIs. Cloutier also continued his dominance on the pitching mound closing out the last three innings while facing 10 batters and striking out nine of them. Cam Davignon hit a pair of doubles and Brandon Hardie stroked his own double as well. Mike Nihill contributed with a clutch single up the middle late in the game to bring the pinch running Clay Bradley across the plate. Steven Hinck’s pitching debut in the majors was a success when he took the mound in the third inning with his team only up by one run. Hinck had to face the top of the Police line up and held them scoreless while striking out their number three and four batters at a pivotal point in the Camfour victory..

Oasis Shower Door 21, Green Meadow Lumber 1
Oasis Shower Door took on a very talented Green Meadow Lumber squad in their first game of the season. Rookie Cameron Hoynoski took the hill for Oasis Shower Door and struck out 7 in 3 innings of work. Cameron helped his own cause at the plate with 2 hits and 4 runs scored. Colby Nadeau had 3 hits for Oasis Shower Door and played stellar defense behind the plate. Jimmy Cloutier scored 3 times and lined 1 base hit. Collin Freeman played great defensively and Mason Hynes came in for relief.

April 26
Oasis Shower Door 14, OMG 10
4/26/2013: Oasis Shower Door played OMG, Inc at beautiful Paper Mill field. Tobey Barlow was the starting pitcher that Oasis Shower Door needed. Tobey pitched 3 innings, struck out 4, and gave up only 1 run. He also contributed at the plate with 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Ryan Morash also helped the offense gathering 1 hit, and 2 runs scored. Oasis Shower Door relied heavily on the Bruno Brothers: Andrew and Chris. Andrew had 1 hit and 1 run scored and big brother Chris pitched two innings and scored twice. Mason Hynes came on in the 6th to secure the save. Oasis Shower Door won 14-10.

April 28
Oasis Shower Door 6, Fenway Westfield 4
Oasis Shower Door traveled across town to meet up with Fenway Westfield at Cross Street. Both teams were coming off very short rest. Cameron Hoynoski took the hill for Oasis Shower Door and did not disappoint. Cameron threw just 49 pitches in 3 innings of work, striking out 8 batters. Daniel Provost followed Cameron and pitched a solid 2 and 2/3rds striking out 6. Mason Hynes came in and secured his second save in 3 days. Ryan Morash provided the offense with a hit and two runs scored. Oasis Shower Door hung on for the win, 6-4.

May 5
Oasis Shower Door 21, Bannish Lumber 1
Tobey Barlow took the hill for Oasis Shower Door against a talented Bannish Lumber squad. Tobey struggled out of the first inning, but settled down after that, striking out 6 in 3 innings work. Jimmy Cloutier and Colby Nadeau led the offense attack. Cloutier had two hits and 2 runs scored. Nadeau had a single and crushed a triple for Oasis Shower Door. Nick Krawiec lined a shot to left field and played impecable defense. Dylan Arooth had 1 hit and 3 runs scored. Barlow finished with two hits, Cameron Hoynoski and Daniel Provost had one hit a piece. Mason Hynes was called up earlier in the day to play in the Majors. He will be missed by his Oasis Shower Door teammates.

May 10
Anytime Fitness 17, Oasis Shower Door 9
In a showdown for the ages, Oasis Shower Door (4-0) took on undefeated Anytime Fitness (3-0-1) on a beautiful Friday evening. Cameron Hoynoski once again took to the hill for Oasis Shower Door. Cameron struck out 7 batters in 3 innings of work. Tobey Barlow, Dylan Arooth, and Colby Nadeau each had 2 hits a piece. Ryan Morash and Colby Nadeau each had a hit a piece. Kyle Starzyk, Collin Freeman and Nick Krawiec played great defensively. Everything was coming up roses early for Oasis Shower Door taking a 7-2 lead going into the top of the 4th. But, Anytime Fitness staged a tremendous comeback, silencing the previous undefeated Oasis Shower Door.

May 11
Oasis Shower Door 15, Heritage Lawns 4
Just a mere 14 hours after there first loss of the season, Oasis Shower Door was back on the diamond for an early Saturday morning game against Heritage Lawns. Tobey Barlow started on the hill striking out 9 hitters in 3 solid innings of work. Colby Nadeau made his first pitching appearance of the year for Oasis Shower Door and struck out 3. The Bruno Brothers,Andrew & Chris, were at it again for Oasis Shower Door getting on base and scoring 2 runs. Chris also made a great play at short stop. Dylan Arooth had two hits and scored twice. Daniel Provost had a double and a single for Oasis Shower Door. Collin Freeman walked twice and scored twice. Kyle Starzk smashed a hit to right and Oasis Shower Door went on to win, 15-4. Oasis Shower Door improves to 5-1 on the year.

OMG 7, Kitchens by Herzenberg 4
Carlos Vargas pitched a great 4 innings with John Malo and Sean Daly behind the plate. The entire team made at least eight text book plays in the infield – great job to Dylan King on first base, Pat Callahan, Josiah Alvalle, Nate Ritchie, and Colin Gallant on second, Aidan King and Hunter King at shortstop, and Jeffrey Collingwood at third. A great job by everyone.
