Lexi Minicucci put Westfield out front when she ripped a first-half goal into the net. Leighanne Sullivan assisted on the play.
Westfield goalie Karly Mastello made 15 saves.
“It was a frustrating loss for the Bombers,” Westfield coach Karen Gomez said. “We played really hard. It was a good, fast-paced game. We just weren’t connecting on all our passes in front of the net.”
It was a change-of-pace game for Westfield, playing on turf at Mahar. The Bombers typically only see grass surfaces for much of the regular season.
