WEST SPRINGFIELD – Although the St. Mary High School boys’ tennis team managed to come away with just one individual match victory Monday, it was truly noteworthy.
St. Mary’s James Marasi defeated West Side’s Jacob Johnson in a first-set thriller, 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 (tiebreaker). The Saints lost 4-1 to the host Terriers.
St. Mary’s also presented a challenge to West Side in a doubles match as well, but came up just short.
Saints’ Patrick Boyle and Ben Rutledge lost a valiant match at first doubles, 6-3, 6-2 against Terriers’ Ryan Coderre and Randy Simoneau.
