WILBRAHAM – Westfield exploded for five runs in the fourth inning to complete a 7-3 win over Minnechaug. The game had been postponed the previous day, and resumed with the Bombers leading 2-1.
Kate Menard hit a 3-run double to spark Westfield in the fourth.
Maddy Atkocaitis (2-for-4, 2 RBIs), Jesse Pratt (2-4), Macee Candiano (hit, RBI), Jules Sharon (hit), Karly Mastello (hit), Lexi Minicucci (hit), Syd Ezold (hit), and Katelyn Puza (RBI) also contributed for the Bombers.
Sarah McNerney had a rather interesting day on the mound, allowing 11 hits and striking out 15 batters in the victory.
“Overall, the game went well,” Westfield coach Joe Stella said.
The Bombers close out their regular season at Amherst Thursday night at 6.
