New design, lower prices at Price Rite Marketplace

WESTFIELD – Grocery shoppers in Westfield have several store options, including the reimagined Price Rite Marketplace.

Price Rite Marketplace, located at 303 East Main St., is having its grand reopening Jan. 24 and the first 400 customers will receive a $20 gift card to the store. Doors open at 8 a.m.

“Our customers have embraced the marketplace feel, focus on fresh foods, and amazing deals at our rebranded stores,” said Jim Dorey, president of Price Rite Marketplace. “We are excited to bring this streamlined shopping experience to our shoppers in Chicopee, Pittsfield, Springfield, West Springfield and Westfield.”

The new concept stores feature a new design with quality products and deep discounts, including the new Price Rite Marketplace “Drop Zone,” designed as a unique in-store destination where customers can find deals, special surprise buys and must-have products typically priced $5 or less.

According to a press release, Price Rite Marketplace kicked off its rebranding campaign in fall 2018 with three stores in Pennsylvania, followed by an aggressive 2019 rollout with 35 additional rebrands in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Maryland.

“The changes attracted new customers, generated industry buzz and even secured a National Grocers Association Creative Choice Award for outstanding marketing and merchandising in the supermarket industry,” states the release.

Customers who visit these stores will find bright, revitalized décor, including market-style produce departments with fresh fruit, vegetables and organics.

The new Price Rite Marketplace also offers a wider selection of Wholesome Pantry private label products, with free-from, organic, and gluten-free options; plus, a double-your-money-back guarantee on Price Rite Marketplace brand products, states the press release. High-quality affordable meats, with brands such as Certified Angus® Beef, Perdue’s No Antibiotics Ever Chicken, Wholesome Pantry organic chicken, and Oasis Halal, are also part of the many “Fresh New Finds!” at the rebranded stores.

Price Rite Marketplace will finish rebranding additional stores in Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island in early 2020.

Price Rite Marketplace is a registered trademark of Wakefern Food Corp., a retailer owned cooperative based in Keasbey, NJ and the largest supermarket cooperative in the United States. It currently operates over 59 grocery stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Maryland.

The grand reopening event includes music, free product samples and other activities.
