New faces all smiles for Southwick

SOUTHWICK – Southwick-Tolland got a lift from an unfamiliar source.
Three different players netted their first varsity goals for the Southwick girls’ soccer team in a 4-3 win over Lenox Wednesday. Rams’ Amber Knobbs (2 goals), Lydia Kinsman (1), and Brittany Munson (1) each scored.
Alex Mello, Paige Cool, and Hailee Hart earned assists for Southwick. Rams’ goalies Meg Zabik (2 saves) and Tory Richburg (6 saves) combined for the victory.
Hampden County Charter School 2, Westfield Voc-Tech 1
CHICOPEE – Ashley Lees scored the lone Voc-Tech goal off a pass from Elena Levkha. Megan Illnicky had 12 saves in net for the Titgers, who also received a valiant effort from Julia Levkha.
JV RESULTS
Southwick 3, Lenox 1
McKenzie Frey scored twice, and Haley Parker recorded one goal and one assist for Southwick. Rams’ goalie Kayla Bergendale collected four saves.
Southwick received a solid defensive effort from Kristin Hall, Jordan Goodreau, and Rachel Healey.
