Nicholas Louis Veronesi

WESTFIELD:  Nicholas Louis Veronesi passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

Nick was born in Springfield, MA, on May 6, 1994. He attended Academy Hill School in Springfield, MA, Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, MA, and graduated from Tabor Academy in Marion, MA. He will receive a degree posthumously from the University of South Carolina, where he majored in Marine Science, Geography and minored in Journalism. At USC, he was employed by USC Stadium Suites and was active in Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), SGTV and USC Community Service Group. Nick studied abroad in Iceland and Chile.

At Tabor, Nick participated on the Tabor Cross-Country, Track and Field, basketball and crew teams. He received the Thunder ’93 Character and Courage Award upon graduation from Tabor. As a crew member aboard the Tabor Boy Schooner, he participated in a research trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Nick was an Eagle Scout and was an avid New England Patriots fan. He was actively involved with both the congregations of Christ Covenant Church and First Presbyterian Church in Columbia.

Surviving are his parents, Robert and Karen Veronesi of Westfield, MA; brother, Robby Veronesi of Bowie, MD; sisters, Gina Footit (John) of East Longmeadow, MA, Lisa Klinkowski (Brad) of Southwick, MA; maternal grandparents, Yvonne Tropp (Alan Epstein) of Mamaroneck, NY; nieces, Jenna (John), Lexie; nephews, Chris, Andrew, Doug; aunts, Jan, Dana (Greg), Lisa (Tim); cousins, Karen (Michael), Danielle (Adam), Brian, Eric, Steven, Kyle, Jake and Matthew. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Alan Tropp; paternal grandparents, Louis and Theresa Veronesi and uncle, Louis Veronesi.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.  A “Celebration of Life” will follow at 3:00 p.m., same location. We will celebrate Nick’s amazing achievements and successes, despite his challenges and struggles.
