
WESTFIELD – Nickolas R. Crockwell, 36 (1989-2026), passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 in Southwick. He was born in Springfield to Richard Crockwell and Kristi (Plourde) Crockwell and was a 2008 graduate of Westfield Vocational School. Starting his career at age five working alongside his father, Nick was a Local 98 Heavy Equipment Operator & Union Master Diesel Mechanic.
Nick was the proud owner and operator of Crockwell’s Mobile Welding, with an extraordinary work ethic & always striving to provide the best service possible to his customers. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, who loved spending time with family and friends, working on Bonnie the Bronco and riding his side by side. His love of weightlifting started at the young age of five with his dad.
Nicks favorites memories with “Pa” Nelson Plourde, included spending time in the workshop and taking rides in the big rigs. Being outdoors and traveling South to visit family in North Carolina; John, Christine, Michaila and Julia, also brought him joy. Despite his tough exterior he was a softy on the inside with a heart of gold.
Nick is survived by his loving parents Kristi and her partner Joe of Westfield and Richard and his partner Connie of Palmer. His grandmother Anne Plourde, the love of his life Lindsay Hawley and his “Baby Bear” Alexis of Westfield, his cousin Jess Coggin, who was like a sister to him, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. A Funeral Home service for Nick, will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2:30PM in the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield.
