WESTFIELD – The Westfield State University women’s volleyball team swept MCLA, 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-14) in the quarterfinal round of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women’s volleyball tournament on Thursday.
No. 3 seed Westfield (10-21) will face No. 2 seed Bridgewater State in the semifinals of the MASCAC Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 3, at

1:00 p.m. The match will be played at Framingham State, the No. 1 seed. The Westfield-Bridgewater winner advances to Saturday’s 3:00 p.m. championship game.
The Owls dominated the Trailblazers (10-19), led by juniors Julia Warner (13 kills, 13 digs) and Lindsay Rescott (12 kills, 13 digs). Freshman Stana Wheeler of Sunderland (Frontier Regional) recorded 33 assists and eight digs and Nicole Molleur had six kills and two blocks. Alyssa Danilow and Carole Duquette each had four service aces.
Darien Quick had a team-high five kills for MCLA and Julia Christian contributed four kills and six digs.
