MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Five Westfield State student-athletes won events at the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational II track and field meet on Saturday.
Dereck Stone captured two events for the Owls, winning the long jump with a leap of 6.79m (22′-03.50″) and cleared 6’4″ to top the field in the high jump.
Stephen Parece won the 1000 meters in 2:44.92.
Mike Skelly claimed the 3000 meters with a time of 8:57.77. Westfield runners took the top three spots in the race with Steve Connolly second and Nick Hawes third.
Chris Williams was a winner in the 5000 meters in 16:02.00.
Finally, Zack Delisle was victorious in the pole vault, clearing 4.40m (14′-05.25″).
Team scoring was not kept at the meet.
