Playoff games galore

WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School girls’ lacrosse team’s historic victory Thursday over 10th seeded Wachusett – the first playoff win in the program’s recent memory – set up an exciting Bombers’ lax quarterfinals double header of sorts, all within a nine-mile radius.
On Saturday, seventh seeded Westfield (14-4) will travel to Longmeadow to take on the mighty No. 2 Lancers (19-1) in girls’ lacrosse action at 4 p.m. Later that night in Wilbraham, No. 3 Minnechaug (14-5) will host No. 6 Westfield (12-7) in what figures to be an epic battle of top shelf boys’ lax teams. Game time is set for 7:30.
