12:21 a.m.: disturbance, Frederick Street, a caller reports a relative on Frederick Street reports he was assaulted by men with guns, see story in the Thursday edition of The Westfield News;
12:30 a.m.: assault, East Main Street, a resident came to the station to report he was assaulted on East Main Street, the responding officer reports the man said that he had been riding his bicycle on East Main Street when a motorist stopped, exited his vehicle and threw him to the ground;
10:09 a.m.: suspicious person, Washington Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a male party exiting a first floor window at a Washington Street, address, the officer reports the man claimed to be a former tenant and said that he returned to retrieve property he had left behind, the officer reports he was able to speak with a representative of the bank in control of the building who said that the window would be secured;
11:21 p.m.: found property, Greenwood Street, a patrol officer reports he discovered a bicycle among bushes, the officer reports the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
1:58p.m.: forgery, West Silver Street, a caller reports that a patient was found to have altered a prescription, the responding officer reports a pharmacist had questioned a prescription which appeared to have been altered and the office of the issuing physician confirmed that it had been changed, a criminal complaint was filed;
4:47 p.m.: fire, Bear Hole, Old Holyoke Road, a caller reports a brush fire near the gate, West Springfield firefighters also responded as it was not clear which side of the city boundary the fire was located, the Westfield firefighters report the fire was extinguished and was in Westfield, West Springfield firefighters were advised;
7:41 p.m.: found property, Southampton Road, a caller reports finding a hypodermic syringe, the responding officer reports the syringe was properly disposed of at Noble Hospital;
9:47 p.m.: disturbance, Woodmont Street, a caller reports that he ahs been renting a room for about a week but his landlord ejected him and will not let him return, the responding officer reports a routine check revealed the caller to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Albert M. Maimone, 34, of 71 Woodmont St., was arrested on the warrant.
