12:11 a.m.: noise complaint, Washington House, 16 Washington St., an officer reports excessive noise from two apartments, the responding supervisory officer reports a community policing officer advised him that the resident had been repeatedly warned about the noise coming from his apartment, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
1:24 a.m.: weather complaint, Northwest Road, a patrol officer reports he observed eight fire hydrants which are completely covered by snow, the deputy fire chief on duty was advised;
2:30 a.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street, a caller reports her boyfriend has taken her keys and refuses to return them, the woman also said that the man was threatening to vandalize her vehicle, the responding officer reports the altercation was sparked by a message the woman received from a friend reporting that her boyfriend had been at a Springfield strip club, the officer reports that no physical altercation occurred but the woman wanted the man to leave her home, a friend took custody of the man;
6:29 a.m.: disabled vehicle, Sackett Street, a caller from a towing company reports that a tow truck has been stuck since about 3 a.m. despite the efforts of a tow truck from another company, the caller said that the tow truck could be freed if a plow could move some of the snow, the DPW was notified and a plow truck was dispatched;
8:20 a.m.: assist citizen, Russell Road, a patrol office reports he was flagged down by a Russell resident who said that his wife (who was in the vehicle) was in the throes of a medical emergency and requested an escort to Noble Hospital, the officer reports he preceded the motorist with his cruiser’s lights and siren activated to ensure safe and prompt arrival at the hospital;
9:09 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Pontoosic Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s out-of-state license was found to have been suspended, a licensed family member came to the scene to take custody of the vehicle, a criminal complaint was filed;
9:33 a.m.: assist resident, Hawthorne Avenue, a supervisory officer requests that the ‘jumper box’ be transported to a Hawthorne Avenue location to assist an elderly operator start his car, services rendered;
12:41 p.m.: fire, St. Pierre Lane, a caller reports his house is filling with smoke and the occupants were evacuating, the responding deputy fire chief reports that a wooden structure surrounding a wood stove pipe had ignited, the fire was extinguished but had compromised electrical wires nearby requiring that the electrical service to the house be interrupted, the residents sought alternate accommodations until the electrical issue was resolved;
2:13 p.m.: accident, Elm Street, a caller reports a pedestrian was struck by the mirror of a pickup truck which did not stop, the responding firefighters report the victim was transported to Noble Hospital where she was treated and released;
4:25 p.m.: assist other police department, Pochassic Road, State Police from the Russell barracks request assistance searching the railroad tracks for a vehicle which had been operating on the rails from Russell and became disabled before it was struck by a train, the trooper said that the operator called state police and was not injured, CSX railroad was notified and suspended train traffic, a deputy fire chief reports the vehicle and operator were located in Russell;
5:22 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have registration revoked for lack of insurance, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
7:47 p.m.: disturbance, Main Street, a caller reports he was accosted by an intoxicated man outside his apartment, the responding officer reports the caller said that the man had blocked his driveway before asking for a ride, the officer reports the suspect was found nearby and deemed to be too intoxicated to care for himself, the Chester man was placed in protective custody;
7:59 p.m.: DPW notification, Arnold Street, a caller from an Arnold Street bar reports water is flowing into the bar’s parking lot which smells like sewage, a second caller from the DPW reports that the sewage is flowing from a hose coming from a nearby Asian restaurant, the responding officer reports the DPW worker said that he observed the hose coming from the restaurant, the officer spoke with the restaurant manager who said that the floors had been washed but no hose was involved, the officer reports that when he exited the rear door of the restaurant he saw clear evidence that a hose had been laid in the snow and the marks in the snow followed the path the DPW worker had reported, the city inspector was notified;
10:35 p.m.: officer wanted, Riverbend Condos, 555 Russell Road, a caller reports she returned from a long weekend to find items in her apartment had been disturbed, the responding officer reports the caller said that an attic door had been unlatched and electrical items unplugged, the caller reports nothing seems to be missing, see 12:46 p.m. Tuesday entry;
10:43 p.m.: assault, Franklin Street, a caller reports he had been assaulted earlier while leaving a liquor store and the event was witnessed by a store employee who intervened and a witness in a vehicle, the responding officer reports no assault occurred, the officer found the suspect to be a neighbor of the man who had been fooling around and had hugged the man.
