12:48 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, municipal parking lot, Arnold Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle parked facing the wrong direction on Arnold Street, the officer reports the operator returned to the car and immediately drove to a nearby parking lot where he parked the car among others and shut it down in an apparent attempt to hide among the other parked cars, the officer reports that the operator’s license was found to be suspended, Shawn Michael Kelly, 34, of 52 Sampson St., Chicopee, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and the car was towed to the police impound yard;
9:39 a.m.: fire, Russell Road, a caller reports her car is on fire next to the pumps at a gas station, see story in the Saturday edition of The Westfield News;
9:42 a.m.: fraud, a resident came to the station to report a fraudulent charge on her credit card, the responding officer reports the complainant said that his bank is investigating the bogus charge and requires that a police report be filed;
12:11 p.m.: identity fraud, West Road, a resident came to the station to complain about a man she has allowed to live at her home, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had allowed a friend she had known decades ago to move into her home but asked him to leave after she found evidence to suggest he was abusing drugs, the woman said that the man refused to leave and she learned that he has used at least three different social security numbers and had opened a credit account in her name, the investigation was referred to the Detective Bureau
5:05 p.m.: animal complaint, Edgeview Terrace, a caller reports that when his neighbor walks his three dogs he allows them to defecate on his property, the responding officer reports the caller said that when he went out to get his mail he observed dog feces on his property, the man was advised to report the issue to the director of animal control operations and that the dispatcher would also report the complaint.
