1:17 a.m.: assist other police department, Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave., WSU police request the use of a cell for a male prisoner, a cell monitor was provided, the prisoner was released on bail at 2:09 a.m.:
8:42 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Washington Street, a person came to the station to complain of vehicles parked in the area of an apartment building which are blocking a sidewalk which has not been properly cleared, the responding officer reports one illegally parked vehicle was ticketed and a message was left for the landlord of the property adjacent to the neglected sidewalk, the community policing officer for the neighborhood was also advised;
11:54 a.m.: annoying phone calls, Meadow Street, a resident came to the station to complain of text messages which had been sent to her 12-year-old daughter, the responding officer reports the woman said that her daughter believes the messages came from a schoolmate who was using a stolen phone to send her insulting sexually oriented messages, the woman was advised to contact police if the person sends more messages;
3:00 p.m.: animal complaint, Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, residents surrendered a stray intact male black Labrador retriever mix dog wearing a Monson rabies tag;
4:51 p.m.: annoying phone calls, Sabrina Brooke Lane, a resident reports via the email option that he received threatening text messages after sending out an email blast, the complainant said that the call came from a central Massachusetts phone number and threatened his life, the man said that the message came from an unknown person so he does not know how seriously to take it but it put him in fear;
6:05 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store requests an officer to assist in identifying a shoplifting suspect, the responding officer reports the woman was identified and the employee said that he does not immediately need any more police services;
10:31 p.m.: city ordinance violation citation, Mechanic Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a man urinating on a building in view of the road and sidewalk, the officer reports a city ordinance violation citation was issued.
