12:10 a.m.: assist other police department, Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave., WSU police request the use of a cell for a man in protective custody, a cell monitor was provided until the man was released at 6 a.m.;
10:04 a.m.: city ordinance violation, an officer assisting with a building inspector requests an animal control officer to assist, the responding ACO reports four dogs were found at the residence and the resident was advised that one dog will have to go, the ACO advised the resident that she will return in a week to ensure that the three remaining dogs are licensed and vaccinated;
10:15 a.m.: assist resident, Otis Street, a caller request an officer to stand by while an eviction notice is served, the responding officer reports he witnessed the service of the eviction notice;
11:02 a.m.: officer wanted, East Main Street, a caller reports a man who follows and harasses her is at her workplace, the responding officer reports the man was issued a verbal warning to stay away from the business as the management did not wish to issue a written warning;
8:16 p.m.: unwanted guest, Elm Street, a caller from an Elm Street convenience store requests an officer for an unwanted customer who refuses to leave, the responding officer reports the man said that the clerk refused to sell him cigarettes even though he had produced identification, the clerk told the officer that the man became agitated when he asked to identification and he declined to do business with him, the man left the area without further incident;
9:39 p.m.: suspicious person, Broad Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a man near a car parked on Broad Street, the officer reports that the man appeared to be highly intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test, the officer reports he was unable to find anybody who would care for the man who was subsequently placed in protective custody, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard.
