12:11 a.m.: well-being check, Washington Street, a caller reports her neighbor’s intoxicated boyfriend is outside and she is concerned for his safety, the responding officers report that they spoke with the man who was clearly intoxicated and attempted to physically eject one of the officers, the man resisted efforts to take him into custody, Benjamin L. Kuta, 25, of 8 Ethan Ave., was arrested for assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest, a routine check revealed that the caller was the subject of two outstanding warrants issued in 2014 by Holyoke District Court, Stephanie Anne Forrette, 27, of 10 Washington St., was arrested on the warrants;
5:03 a.m.: vandalism, George Street, a resident reports via the online reporting option that her vehicle was vandalized for the second time in less than a month, the report states that a fluid was dribbled on the vehicle and the owner is unable to determine if it caused permanent damage due to the freezing temperatures;
11:37 a.m.: home invasion, Main Street, a resident of a subsidized residential facility reports a man came to his door and asked for his daughter, the caller said that the man tried to rob him with a gun, the caller said that the man knew that he had money in his residence but is unknown to both himself and his daughter, the responding officer reports the suspect left the area and a search did not find him or his described vehicle;
11:59 a.m.: assault, Arnold Street, a Montgomery resident came to the station to complain that she was assaulted the night before after she left an Arnold Street bar, the responding officer reports the woman said that an altercation began inside the bar and she was asked to leave, the woman said that the other involved party followed her outside and assaulted her, the woman identified a suspect, the case remain under investigation;
5:04 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Avenue, a patrol officer reports he encountered a parked vehicle with expired registration, the plates were seized;
5:30 p.m.: abandoned vehicle, City Hall, 59 Court St., a patrol officer reports a city employee requested a tow for a vehicle which had been parked in the City Hall parking lot for the previous two snow storms, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
9:27 p.m.: suspicious activity, Van Dussen Apartments, 42 Arnold Street, a caller reports hearing yelling and pounding at the back door followed by the sound of breaking glass, the responding officer reports an intoxicated resident was found who did not have his key and broke a window to gain access, both the man’s hands were cut and he was transported to Noble Hospital, the maintenance supervisor for the building was notified;
9:36 p.m.: trespassing, Court House Square Apartments, 27 Washington St., a security employee for the apartment building requests an officer to escort a person who has previously been served a ‘No trespassing’ order from the building, the responding officer reports no such order was found in police records but the subject was cooperative and left the building, the officer reports the woman’s friends agreed to transport her to the Westfield State University campus;
10:18 p.m.: disturbance, Court House Square Apartments, 27 Washington St., a security employee for the apartment building requests an officer to assist with tenants, the responding officer reports he was asked to assist with a noisy apartment which had previously been visited regarding the noise, the officer reports he immediately saw a large amount of alcohol in the apartment and the single tenant present was younger than the legal drinking age, there were also about 30 people present who were dispersed, the alcohol in the apartment was discarded and a city ordinance violation citation for being a person younger than the legal drinking age was issued, a person was seen attempting to leave with a bottle of whiskey and was similarly cited, that person was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and a second city ordinance violation citation was issued;
10:54 p.m.: disturbance, Court House Square Apartments, 27 Washington St., a security employee for the apartment building reports a person left carrying what appeared to be alcohol in a plastic cup, the security officer then went to an apartment were a party was underway and requested police assistance, the responding officer reports he spoke with three tenants who were all younger than the legal drinking age but appeared to be intoxicated, at least 50 people were inside and were dispersed, two were seen to be leaving with bottles which were not labeled as alcohol yet tested positive for alcohol, both were issued city ordinance violation citations.
