12:11 a.m.: officer wanted, Noble Hospital, Court Street, a nurse from the hospital’s emergency department requests an officer for an unruly patient, the responding officer reports the caller said that a patient who was no longer in need of medical attention had made threats to staff and assaulted a medical technician, the responding officer reports he found the man to be too intoxicated to care for himself and he was placed in protective custody;
12:38 a.m.: suspicious person, Franklin Street at Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed three vehicles swerve around an obstruction in the roadway and investigated to find a person walking in the travel lane, the man failed to move out of the way when the cruiser approached and when confronted boisterously said that he could walk wherever he wanted to drawing the attention of passing operators, the officer observed an odor of alcohol about the man, John Paul Farrelly, 28, of 16 William St., was arrested for disorderly conduct;
1:23 a.m.: suspicious person, Mechanic Street, an officer who had responded to a minor disturbance on Mechanic Street reports he subsequently discovered a female party hiding behind a trash can, the girl was found to be 16 years-of-age and said that her mother thought she was spending the night with a friend, the girl was provided a courtesy transport to a Noble Avenue address where she was surrendered to the custody of her father;
3:21 a.m.: officer wanted, Noble Hospital, Court Street, a caller from the hospital’s emergency department requests an officer for a woman who appears to be highly intoxicated, the responding officer reports the caller said that the woman was seen to enter the emergency department yelling and lunging at her son and was seen to punch him repeatedly as another son attempted to restrain her, the officer reports the woman’s elder son said that he had been upset and punched a fence whereupon his mother insisted on driving him to the hospital despite the fact that she was intoxicated, the 17-year-old boy said that when they got to the hospital he seized his mother’s keys and she attempted to retrieve them, the boy did not answer when asked if his mother punched him and the woman denied striking her son, the Department of Children and Families was notified and arranged for the woman’s 18-year-old daughter to come to the hospital to take custody of the boy and his 13-year-old brother, Elizabeth M. Roulston, 36, of 21 Belmont St., Feeding Hills, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship;
3:59 a.m.: assist other police department, Springfield Road, a caller from the West Springfield police department request a courtesy transport for a male party who is the victim of a robbery in Springfield, the responding officer reports he rendezvoused with a west side officer and transported Main Street resident to his home;
11:10 a.m.: vandalism, Lozier Avenue, a resident came to the station to report a window of his mother’s home was broken by a paint ball, the responding officer reports the complainant said that during a snow storm on Feb. 9 a window was struck and broken by a paint ball;
12:18 p.m.: disturbance, Van Dussen Apartments, 42 Arnold St., a caller reports hearing neighbors yelling and says he can hear someone threatening to put a baby in the hallway, the responding officer reports the door was opened by a young woman holding an infant, the woman said that she was exhausted and wanted the baby’s father to care for her while she slept but the man said that he was not able to and wanted to go to Pittsfield, the woman said that she would not allow the man to take her child to visit his unsavory friends, the man agreed to stay home and care for the child so the woman could rest;
12:23 p.m.: vandalism, Crown Street, a caller reports a known person had been following his vehicle and threw a ball bearing which shattered the rear window of his pickup truck, the responding officer reports he spoke with the putative victim, the suspect and a witness, the officer reports the victim’s account of how his acquaintance threw a ball bearing with enough force to shatter a rear window and continue to strike the inside of the windshield while driving a vehicle following the victim’s vehicle seems implausible, no charges were filed;
1:05 p.m.: larceny, Southampton Road, a caller reports a larceny from his vehicle, the responding officer reports the caller said that he had parked his pickup truck in a parking lot behind a Southampton Road restaurant about 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 9and when he returned about 2:30 a.m. he found a door had been pried open and his briefcase which contained $1,000 in cash and three bottles of prescription medication had been stolen;
1:16 p.m.: robbery, MoFroYo, 617 E. Main Street, a caller reports a frozen yogurt store was robbed, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
4:52 p.m.: disturbance, Broad Street, a caller from a nursing home reports a woman who frequently visits a resident while intoxicated is creating a disturbance, the responding officer reports a woman who was slumped in a chair was pointed out to him and the woman was yelling and obviously intoxicated, the officer reports that the woman had brought a bag to the facility and it was found to contain two bottles of prescription medication which had been dispensed that morning but were missing an inordinate number of pills, the woman was transported by ambulance to Noble Hospital;
5:10 p.m.: gas leak, Western Circle, a fire captain requests an engine for a gas leak, the captain reports a house was ventilated to remove high levels of gas and the responding police supervisor reports the road was closed due to the gas leak, the residents were not at home and the house was not secured as windows needed to be left open to ventilate, a detail officer was assigned to the closed roadway;
7:42 p.m.: officer wanted, Washington Street, a caller reports an intoxicated man is passed out in his vehicle with his pants down and his genitals exposed, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
9:57 p.m.: robbery, Main Street, a caller reports he was robbed in a Main Street parking lot, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News.
