Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013
12:25 a.m.: liquor law violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports he observed four college aged youths walking along Franklin Street and saw one of two young men discard something, the officer reports that when he approached the second youth dropped a beer can and both were instructed to recover their trash, both items were found to be beer containers and both young men were issued city ordinance violation citations;
5:55 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Washington Street, a patrol supervisor reports he issued a city ordinance violation citation to the owner of a Washington Street residence who has previously been advised to clear the sidewalks adjacent to his property and has declined to comply with the pertinent city ordinance, the citation was mailed to the landlord’s Southwick address;
12:07 p.m.: disturbance, Granville Road, a caller reports her son is engaged in a disturbance with his older female cousin, the responding officer reports he encountered a 16-year-old boy in the driveway of his residence and observed scratches on his neck, the boy said that his 29-year-old cousin came to his residence and grabbed him by his clothing and swung him around before slapping him and attempting to strike him with a metal chair, the officer spoke with the woman who said that she had told the boy that if he didn’t stop sending her text messages she was going to go to his home and break his phone, the woman said that she and her sister went to confront the boy who tried to hit her and pushed her into a door, the woman’s sister supported her account, a criminal complaint was filed against the woman and the Department of Children and Families was notified;
2:50 p.m.: larceny, Sackett Street, a caller reports that while at a neighbor’s house her wallet was stolen, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had been drinking beer with a neighbor at his home and discovered her wallet had been stolen from her purse;
2:55 p.m.: 2:55 p.m.: vandalism, Meadow Street, the owner of a convenience store reports an attempt was made to break into the store the night before, the responding officer reports that the caller showed him security video which showed two persons standing outside a front window pointing a gun at the window, the officer saw that both panes of the window had been holed and BBs were recovered;
7:21 p.m.: attempted breaking and entering, Joseph Avenue, a caller reports she returned to her home and found someone had attempted to break down the door, the responding officer reports the caller said that she left about 2:30 p.m. and returned to find the door frame had been damaged, no entry appeared to have been gained;

Monday, Feb. 18, 2013
1:58 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Washington Street, a patrol supervisor reports he issued a city ordinance violation citation to the owner of a Washington Street residence who has previously been advised to clear the sidewalks adjacent to his property and has declined to comply with the pertinent city ordinance, the citation was mailed to the landlord’s Southwick address;
10:41 a.m.: vandalism, Elm Street a call reports that it appears as if someone shot the front door of his business, the responding officer reports that some time since he closed his business on Saturday at 1 p.m. the front door was struck repeatedly by BBs, the officer noted at least nine holes in the glass door, the store’s security video will be reviewed;
12:39 p.m.: threat to commit a crime, Notre Dame Street, a resident came to the station to report she was threatened, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she had been in a common area at her residence when she was approached by a known woman who said that she wanted to apologize for a previous incident, the complainant said she told the woman she didn’t want to talk about it and attempted to walk away but the other woman became irate and yelled threats at her, the complainant quoted the other woman as yelling “I will gut you like a fish”, a criminal complaint was filed;
1:40 p.m.: breaking and entering, Taylor Avenue, a caller reports his apartment was damaged by a prior break in, the responding officer reports the caller said that a former employee had stolen tools and equipment in an unreported incident a month ago, the complainant said that the same suspect had been seen stealing his cell phone about a week ago and struck the victim’s house with his vehicle as he fled, the man said that the he had come to a verbal restitution agreement with the suspect who made partial restitution but is now refusing to further compensate him, the complainant was advised of his civil options;
3:33 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a resident came to the station to reports her wallet was stolen while she was shopping at an East Main Street clothing store, the responding officer reports the woman said that a woman struck up a conversation with her and she subsequently discovered her wallet to have been stolen from her purse which was in her shopping cart, the woman said that she believes the woman distracted her while a confederate stole her wallet, the woman said that she immediately notified her credit card companies and learned that a $3,000 purchase had been made with one of her credit cards at a Holyoke store and additional charges were incurred within minutes;
5:49 p.m.: suspicious situation, Sunrise Terrace, a caller reports an open bedroom door at a vacant residence, the responding officer reports that the empty house appears to have been entered but nothing was taken as it is empty, no damage was reported;
8:59 p.m.: disturbance, Russell Road, a caller reports a disturbance with her boyfriend who is verbally abusive, the responding officer reports a routine check of the involved parties reveled that the male party was the subject of two outstanding warrants, Alexis Rivera, 33, of 974 Russell Road, was arrested on the two 2012 warrants;
9:12 p.m.: breaking and entering, Miller Street, a resident came to the station to report that his garage was entered and an extension cord was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he was advised by neighbors that two men were heard talking and the neighbors provided registration plate information, the case was referred to the Detective Bureau;
11:03 p.m.: fire, Western Avenue, Westfield State University police reports a tree branch in contact with an electrical wire is burning, the responding officer reports power was interrupted in the Western Avenue area because a tree fell on power lines, a G&E crew and firefighters responded to cope with problem.
