12:57 a.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a woman came to the station to report the theft of a computer, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she has been staying with a friend and has not been able to find her laptop computer, the woman said that her host was evasive when she queried him, the complaint was referred to the Detective Bureau;
1:52 a.m.: vandalism, Tanglewood Drive, a resident came to the station to complain that someone threw a flashlight at his vehicle which damaged it, the responding officer reports the complaint said that he observed his girlfriend’s estranged husband throw a flashlight at his car, no charges were filed;
4:57 a.m.: attempted robbery, Main Street, a caller from a Main Street convenience store reports that a female party attempted a robbery, the responding officer reports the caller said that a woman entered the store and claimed to have a gun, no weapon was shown, the woman attempted to rob the store but fled when a customer entered, the K-9 unit responded to the store and the dog followed a track but no suspect was found;
8:24 a.m.: accident, Park Square, a patrol officer reports he was advised that a tractor trailer unit struck several of the posts surrounding the Green, the officer reports the truck was stopped and the trucker provided the insurance information for the truck;
9:28 a.m.: found property, Elm Street, a person came to the station to surrender a Samsung cell phone reportedly found on an Elm Street sidewalk, the responding detective reports that the owner of the phone could not be immediately determined;
11:28 a.m.: larceny, Southwood Acres, 342 Southwick Road, a resident came to the station to complain that a package was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that merchandise ordered was reportedly delivered to his address but he did not receive it;
12:48 suspicious person, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports a couple in the store is behaving suspiciously, the responding officer reports that a routine check revealed that the male party was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Christopher Berrios, 26, of 56 Elm St., was arrested on a 2012 warrant;
1:33 p.m.: animal complaint, Southampton Road, the director of animal control operations took custody of a stray cat and transported it to the shelter;
5:33 p.m.: hazardous item, Cycle Street, a caller reports finding a hypodermic syringe containing blood in a snow bank, the responding officer reports the syringe was properly disposed of;
9:01 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller from an East Main Street discount store reports a shoplifter has been detained in the store, the responding officer reports a store employee reports that men’s grooming products valued at $18 were recovered from the suspect, Matthew Joseph Rondoletto, 19, of 520 Kings Highway, West Springfield, was arrested for shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
