1:24 a.m.: accident Feeding Hills Road, a motorist reports he came upon a car which had struck a utility pole, dual response dispatched, the operator was transported to Baystate Medical Center where she was admitted and later that morning was reported to be in critical condition, 24 hours later she was reported to still be in critical condition;
9:13 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Conner Avenue, a code enforcement officer reports he observed an icy and unshoveled sidewalk, the officer reports a tenant provided the landlord’s phone number, the officer spoke with a responsible party and advised her of the dangerously icy condition and her responsibilities, the officer reports similar concerns were addressed at Kellogg Street (2), Lincoln Street, Charles Street (2), King Street (2), Chestnut Street, Bates Street and Hampden Street;
10:24 a.m.: city ordinance violation, King Street, a resident came to the station to complain of a dangerously icy sidewalk, the responding officer reports he determined the owner of the property but was unable to immediately speak with her, other residents made similar complaints regarding sidewalks on Union Street and West Silver Street;
2:10 p.m.: illegal dumping, South Broad Street, a patrol officer reports he observed demolition debris including a sink and bathtub had been dumped in the area of the tin bridge, the DPW was notified;
2:24 p.m.: suspicious activity, Whitney Playground, Shepard Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a couple engaged in amorous activity in the playground, the officer reports that he advised the couple to “get a room and not be doing that in broad daylight”;
5:23 p.m.: assist resident, Main Street, a caller from a Main Street bank requests a ride for an elderly customer, the responding officer reports a courtesy transport was provided to a Broad Street address;
6:17 p.m.: assist resident, Loomis Ridge, a caller reports her foster child has received what she suspects may be inappropriate text messages from an adult male but they are in Spanish and she is not able to read them, a Spanish speaking officer reports no provocative messages were found and the caller was advised of her restraining order options.
