11:01 p.m.: fire, Frederick Street, a caller reports a porch fire, the responding firefighters report a small fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival, the firefighters reports a porch floorboard was charred, apparently by a carelessly discarded cigarette;

1:20 a.m.: trespassing, Half Mill Falls Park, North Elm Street, a dispatcher reports four youths were seen on the park’s security monitors, the responding officer reports the four youths were cooperative, the four were identified, apprised of the pertinent city ordinance and sent on their ways;
9:10 a.m.: annoying phone calls, Southwood Acres, 342 Southwick Road, a caller reports annoying phone calls, the responding officer reports the caller said that annoying calls have been received from six different cell phones, the case was referred to the detective bureau where it remains under investigation;
10:57 a.m.: assist Fire Department, a detective supervisor reports he assisted the fire department in their investigation of a porch fire on Frederick Street, the fire was not found to be suspicious in origin, the fire was apparently started by carelessly discarded smoking material and charred a small area of the porch floor;
11:58 a.m.: larceny, Sackett Road, a resident came to the station to report that scrap metal had been stolen from his rental property, the responding officer reports the complainant said that scrap metal he had stored including the body and frame of a box truck had been stolen, the victim estimated the value of the stolen property at about $4,000, the officer reports the investigation led him to a tow yard where he found much of the missing property, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
1:10 p.m.: larceny, Montgomery Road, a resident came to the station to report his mountain bike was stolen, the responding officer reports the man said the bike was valued at $2,700 when he bought it and would cost considerably more to replace, the man said that the bicycle had been parked in his garage on July 9 and was found to be missing on July 16;
3:31 p.m.: found property, Loomis Street, a caller reports her children found a registration plate on Granville Road, the responding officer reports the plate was transported to the station;
4:07 p.m.: larceny, Southwood Acres, 342 Southwick Road, a resident came to the station to complaint that checks were cashed fraudulently, the responding officer report the complainant said that a known person stole a book of starter checks for his new checking account and cashed eight for a total of about $2,000, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
4:57 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a suspended license, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
6:01 p.m.: arrest, Meadow Street, a community policing officer detailed to assist a probation officer reports he was advised that one of the persons to be checked by the probations officer was the subject of an outstanding warrant, the warrant was confirmed and the man was found at his home, Wes Kellogg, 41, of 79 Meadow St., was arrested without incident.
