12:24 a.m.; motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating eastbound on Springfield Road at a high rate of speed and used radar to determine the pickup truck was traveling at 57 mph, the officer followed the vehicle and observed it completely cross the center line and travel for about 50 feet in the opposing lane of traffic before it returned to the proper lane, the vehicle was stopped and the officer noted an odor of alcohol, the operator said he had consumed one beer, the man failed a field sobriety test, Randy Carroll, 27, of 88 Leo Ave., Dracut, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor, speeding in violation of special regulations, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation;
7:48 a.m.: vandalism, Elm Street, a caller from an Elm Street business reports windows were broken overnight, the responding officer reports the caller said that the glass was intact at 8 p.m. Thursday but in the morning a window in a door and an adjacent window were found to have been cracked, no entry was gained;
11:42 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, an off duty supervisory officer requests a marked unit for a vehicle from which the occupants were littering, the responding officer reports the six occupants were seen in the compact car and none were found to be wearing seat belts when the vehicle pulled into a gas station after he activated his take down lights, the operator said that he had no license and a check revealed that the man’s license had been suspended, a check also revealed that the vehicle had been reported to have been stolen in Connecticut, William F. Lamagdelaine, 20, of 130 Sackett Road, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, littering trash from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property valued more than $250 and an adult seatbelt violation, Ryan Rafferty, 17, of 206 Corcoran Boulevard, Springfield, Chelsea Nicole Bargalla, 18, of 130 Sackett Road, Cisco Correa, 32, of 73 Grover St., Springfield, Edwin L. Soto, 19, of 79 Quincy St., Springfield, and Darryl T. Murchison, 22, of 79 Quincy St., Springfield, were each arrested for receiving stolen property valued more than $250 and for an adult seatbelt violation;
12:58 p.m.: fraud, South Maple Street, a representative of a South Maple Street gas station and convenience store came to the station to report an employee was defrauded overnight by a telephone caller, the responding officer reports he was told that the clerk had received a phone call from a caller who claimed to represent the phone company and said there was a problem with the machine which activates prepaid calling cards, the clerk cooperated with the caller when he asked her to activate cards and provide him with the PINs, the complainant reports the clerk activated 11 cards valued at more than $900 and the calling minutes had been used by the time the scam was discovered;
2:53 p.m.: larceny, Mechanic Street, a community policing officer reports the landlord of a Mechanic Street property informed him of a larceny, the CP officer reports the complainant said a cast iron sink and the metal stand to support it had been removed form the building and was last seen outside about noon but has since been stolen, the victim valued the property at about $225;
4:42 p.m.: violation of a protective order, Springfield Road, a caller reports her husband violated a protective order, the respond officer reports the caller said that she had encountered her husband in a store and her children ran to greet him, the woman said that the man lingered with children for about 25 minutes in violation of the order, Sergey V. Lapik, 35, of 41 River St., West Springfield, was arrested for violation of an abuse protection order;
4:48 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Avenue, a traffic enforcement officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a suspended license, the vehicle was towed to a police impound yard;
5:16 p.m.: officer wanted, Old Farm Road, a resident came to the station to complain about the actions of a former boyfriend, the responding officer reports the woman said that the man had been allowed visit overnight and in the morning the woman found jewelry and a laptop computer with a total value of almost $2,000 missing, the woman said she confronted the man who admitted taking the property but refused to return it, the woman said she would seek a criminal complaint at Westfield District Court;
6:48 p.m.: breaking and entering, Old Farm Road, a caller reports his home was apparently broken into, the responding officer reports the caller said that he found his basement door open and investigated to find jewelry missing, the victim said that he suspects a former boyfriend of his daughter’s is responsible, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
10:49 p.m.: lost property, Southampton Road, caller from New York reports he left his wallet atop a gas pump at a Southampton Road gas station before he left the city and asked that an office secure his wallet for him, the responding officer reports the station is closed and unattended, no wallet was found.
